I didn't post my messages to try to change the rules of the forum. The rules of the forum are the rules of the forum and everyone who is a member should follow them. I was just trying to have a disscussion about a topic that interests me very much and I like to see other peoples opinions. I also believe the others involved weren't trying to use this as an argument to change the rules. Sorry if it came accross that way.

Luke, not to worry, I was mearly venting in general, than in specifics.

What this should be is a discussion, not a flag waving, fight the power parade.

I gotta tell ya, I'm at a loss as to why this is such a big deal. A very specific point. thats all it is. And it has more to do with how it is executed, then the overall meaning. Does this make sense?

Look at the Hot Girls thread, I'm not in there saying this is wrong, this is offensive etc. No! Hell I participated. You have the option to go to that thread or not. Simple as that.

I guess my point is, I feel I have been very easy going with all the topics on this board, I rarely moderate, short of erasing nudie pics. So I guess it just burns my ass, when I ask a simple request, then have to hear how the board, and I ( since it was me that asked ) are censoring, and denying fre speech. You know?

You might not know it, since it seems like I'm on the board 24 hours aday, but I do have better things to do with my time then argue about this.

Sorry if I came off that way. I understand that this is an international board and s2ki.com has every right to remove whatever it wants to. And I think everyone appreciates all the time you put into moderating the forums. As I said in my first quote, don't take it personally. I was just venting on one of my pet peeves.

In my ranting I may have convoluted freedom of speech in general with freedom of speech in the forums. I apologize for that. As MindCore pointed out, s2ki.com has it's own constitution and it's laws are paramount.

In all seriousness...without trying to cause more consternation...you said that my definition of "freedom of speech" is different than yours. To help me gain a little insight, what exactly is your definition of "freedom of speech?"

 

I agree that freedom of Speech in gerneral and freedom speech here are two completely seperate things. I'll fight with all I can in regards to this, as it pertains to my life, I am also completely against censorship of any kind, but with in the boundries of where I feel its appropriate..

I'm sure you have all heard this before, but freedom of speech or not, its still against the law to yell FIRE!! in a movie theatre.

 

On my last night shift, the police arrested some dumba$$ who did something just like this. Made 22 people in 5 fire trucks, 2 ambulances, 2 cop cars racing hell bent for leather thru deadly icy streets 'cause somebody's house was on "fire". He was just exercising his "freedom of speech".

 

Why can't we all just get along!
