Any fans out there? Thoughts on how they wrapped up the series? The only thing I didn't like was the fact that there were so many story lines left open (Claudette, Dutch vs the serial murder kid, etc). But as for Vic and Shane (and his family), wow.

 

I know...I know...I've been a fan since the First Season...total shock last night.

I almost think Dutch did in fact kill the mother... Ugh, I fawkin' hate that the show is over. Sucks.

 

yea i have seen every episode of the shield. last night was crazy. i feel sorry for ronnie the most. he gets ****ed over and never sees it coming... there is nothing worse than being backstabbed and betrayed. especially, since his initial idea to run was the correct move to make. I cant believe vic does him so dirty by stringing him along and doesnt even give him a chance to run.

in the end everybody pays for what they did. ronnie is in prison, lem is ded, shane and his family are dead, and vic has to live with all the crap he has created for himself.

at the barn life goes on. claudette will die and everyone gets promoted. out with the old in with the new. julian gets promoted, tina gets promoted, danny even gets a promotion... and billings is back to even.

it is difficult to wrap up a series like the shield, but overall, i think they did a good part. some parts were kind of slow, and i expected a huge shootout of some sort, but it never happened. i predicted 5 people were gonna die, but only 4 did. shane and his family, plus the mother of the kid serial killer.

 

the saddest part is there are no more decent shows on tv. they all suck. sons of anarchy is lame, and dont even get me started on damages. i hate glen close.

i hope there is a spin off or something.

I liked how the story is finally wrapped up, but the last season was just so dark. There was no down time at all, where everyone's just chilln or things weren't super serious. I'd have to say it's a little hard to do that with all the things going on, but it was just too intense and dreary.

As for the serial killer kid, I believe the writers intention was to show that the kid isn't going to get away with his crimes, as that's how they ended everyone else's story. Michael Chiklis' performance was great in this last episode. He usually conveyed his emotions through action, but this time he couldn't do anything physical about his anger, so it was all in the facial expressions. He made you aware of his character being an un-tamable animal who became caged, in more ways than just sitting at a desk, by I.C.E. This is probably the worst punishment someone of that personality could get.

I am so depressed after watching this last episode now. I didn't even feel this sad when Lem died. Uggghh, I gotta go watch something funny to offset this.

The Shield finale sort of left me hanging much like the last episode of the Sopranos. Not bad but I needed more closure.
