Go for it!

Tokyo is a great place if you have a job an adequate funds.

I lived there for a year and I am considering going back.

 

I think Japan is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. I have relatives out there and they love visiting us here. You get more bang for the buck in the US. I went over to one of my friends houses in Japan, and his room was no bigger than my bathroom. Of course, he lived in Tokyo, so that was to be expected.

What I really liked about Japan was how safe it was to be out. It was also nice to have people come up to me and say good morning. I'm not sure if a foreigner would get the same treatment though. I speak a little bit of Japanese, and am Japanese American, so I look the part.

It would definitely be a different experience.
