Find out what "American" cars he owns and then research where they are made. You'll be surprised how much of many cars is made and assembled in outside countries. Then final assemblies are done in the states.

Hell, many cars are completely assembled in Canada and Mexico.

You shouldn't dignify the comments of such a dumbass by even responding. BTW, the unions and their lack of competiveness and vision have kept the US car makers in the crap for years.

I've had people come up to me and say "Why do you by from the japanese?" Well for one, there is no such thing as a Canadian car company.. I really wonder why though, and 2 The Honda plant just west of Toronto employees over 10,000 people. I think these guys need to smoke more of the good stuff.

Bingo Big Al, you hit the nail on the head. And yes, the S2000 is made entirely outside the US, but many years ago I recall that a full 50% of the Accords driving around were made stateside. I'm sure that number is far higher now.

This oversimplistic point of view just demonstrates what a small mind he has when posing this question. It's far more complicated than this and a point of view like this is the sign of a teeny tiny mind...
