Skydiving!
Regarding the group July skydiving in O'campo-Lodi, the tentative date is July 27th. I am checking to see if they offer group discounts. It's already cheap for a 1st time tandem. $100 for the jump and $50 for the video which you must invest in. Great evidence in case the chute doesn't open! Just kidding! There are two chutes. A main and a backup. That's what they tell me anyway. Other places the package goes for $200-$250. Check site at parachutecenter.com and read carefully so there will be no surprises.
I will firm up the info as it comes in.
I will probably have 5 in my group. The more the better! This will be my third jump. I'm still a little apprehensive but know what to expect. It will be my daughter's second jump and she would do it everyday all day if she could. It will be my girlfriends seventh jump and she is to blame for getting me started. Her son is making his first jump on his 18th birthday and my other daughter may make her 1st jump. Let's do it!
If you are having doubts about jumping, go along to watch. There is all kinds of room at the jump zone to watch us come in. You will be sorry you didn't do it. It is awesome and you will be one of the few that took that step. Skydiving is inherently dangerous and you do have to sign many legal forms but what a view! It's that first step that I had a problem with. Still do! Once that chute opens after your 60 second free fall at 125 mph, it all begins to make sense and you know why people do this. It's almost a spiritual experience.
