Default Tough Mudder 2011

I just registered for Tough Mudder 2011 in Colorado, and am super excited. Plane, lodging, registration, logistics all figured out so im super excited. For those not familiar check it out, it looks to be a great event.

Has anyone done one before, or even anything similar? I don't know if I will be ready in a few short weeks to take on the 10,000+ elevation, but time will tell.

June 26 here we come

all part of the day. It will be great inspiration to get in good cardio shape this summer. One thing (besides the elevation) that has me a little worried is that 3 of the 6 guys on the team 1. live in CO and are used to the elevation and 2. are fresh out of the marines within the past year or so..... My mental game will have to be up to par to keep up with these wackos

Should have started small like the Warrior Dash. I'll be doing it in June.

If you knew me, you would know that I hardly ever start with something small. In fact, my friend and I are discussing that exact subject as I type this.

Thought about signing up the the Boulder Half Ironman 70.3, but chickened out because of the elevation (doing San Juan HIM instead). Best of luck to you; the elevation change is one thing you really can't train for here in the flats. You planning on spending a few days out there before the race to acclimate?

There's also another race like this in Chicago. See below.

I've contemplated training my cardio with a snorkel to similate the oxygen depravation, but dont know how good of an idea that is. Unfortunately I will be arriving the day before the event, and judging from my winter ski trip there I am screwed! It took me about 3 days to get used to the elevation at that time, so well see how this is. Im training hard, that's all I can do at this point. We'll see how it goes!

My friend has a hero gopro HD i want to borrow and put on a head cam, if he is up for it, ill upload the video for all to see!

Chris thanks for the link ill check it out when i get to a computer vs my phone!

happy training

Hey, how did you do? My buddy just did the Devil's Head Tough Mudder in near Madison. Almost wish I saw this thread earlier, I could have given you some pointers on coping with elevation.

If I enjoyed running, I might have been more keen to try something like this. LOL!
