Last night on Encore I watched the movie "Slap Shot" again and I forgot how funny it was. Do any of you Pennsylvania people know if the Johnstown (Charlestown in the movie) Chiefs still play? I also heard somewhere that they are coming out with "Slap Shot 2" still starring the Hanson brothers.

By the way, yes, that was Ralphies mom from "A Christmas Story" topless in bed with Paul Newman talking about her sexual proclivities.

I just answered my own question by doing a search for Johnstown Chiefs. The answer is yes.

 

One of the funniest movies ever. The first time I saw it, I almost pissed myself laughing during the first game when the hanson brother line went out. I still laugh every time I watch it (probably seen it 10 times in the last 3 or 4 years).

I also heard the Slap Shot 2 rumours but I somehow doubt it will happen, and if it does it won't be nearly as funny. How can you top a Hanson beating on a soda machine screaming "****in' machine took my quarter, eh!"? Or the ref yelling at one of the bloodied up brothers during the national anthem, to which he replies "I'm listening to the ****in' song!".

 

It is already done. It was filmed in Vancouver, Canada last year. It stars the Hanson Brothers, Stephen Baldwin, and Gary Buse. It is a direct to video release and according to the website http://www.slapshot2movie.com/ it will be out March 26, 2002. On the same day they are releasing 25th anniversary edition of Slap Shot.

 

What a classic movie. My wife and I watched it too. She had never seen it before and thought it was hilarious.
