just talked with my friends about this question, ( all engineering grad students ), their answer will freak you out : No reproductive organs.
their reasons: the first, human being should have mixed DNA of XX and XY, since the scientist doesn't seem to have enough equipment to do DNA tests, the only thing they can tell is lack of reproductive organs... However, this is not making a lota sense either. The belly button answer makes sense.

the first ever human being should only one set of DNA, therefore should be a mix of both male and female, or neither

People can still be born with both or none in today's age so that theory is flawed IMO.

None of it makes sense. Since evolution took place. Hence there was no "first" human. I don't think your undergraduate friends know what the hell they are talking about.
