11/11/02 Update:

Wow...saw one of these at Sun&Ski...kind of hefty, but that's a good thing.

I got a great deal on a Salomon 450 board on ebay:

So I narrowed it down to these to bags for airport travel.
There is probably no difference, but I was just wondering if anyone perferred one over the other.

1. Burton Board sack:

2. Piper Bag:

Thanks!

That Burton is not padded. For travel I would want something that offers a little protection, especially how airport handlers treat stuff.

They are both padded. Take your board to a shop, and see what works. You probably don't want to remove your bindings every time you put it in the bag, so look at how your equipment fits the bag.

The Burton Board Sack is not padded. I have one. I use it to keep my interior from getting dirty if I don't want to use the roof rack . I got it for like $20, otherwise I would have looked at some others since that's all I need it for.

I definitely recommend the Piper bag. Both my brother and I have been using this bag for 5+ years with no major complaints. Threads are starting to pull on one of the seams of my bag but this is after some pretty heavy travelling with my board in tow. My brother has taken this bag internationally on a few trips and it has held up to some serious abuse.

It's a well-padded bag with room for boots and other gear and it's pretty economical. It's also much less conspicuous than the Burton bag (theft deterrent).

My $.02
