it's an hp pavilion dv6000, and I've received two different emails from people asking what the model number is. one of them even referred to it being on the bottom of the computer.
I'm confused, isn't the model number dv6000?
on the bottom, there is a sticker (warranty related) that gives three numbers:
one labeled "product number" (it's says "dv6700" but I googled that model number and got a different laptop from what I'm selling)
a second labeled "s/n" (obviously serial number)
and the final labeled "p/n" (and gives a long string of numbers similar in length to the serial number, but a much different number)
so I don't get it. are the buyers just retarded? or am I missing something here....
something tells me I don't want to give out the s/n and p/n online, just security reasons.
edit:
I'm retarded

I did the same thing on this old ass HP Pavilion that I had. It wouldnt start up so i sold it as is. However, I was heavily advised to take out to remove the hard drive so I did. I got $35 for it and the peace of mind that no one is going to tamper with any of my passwords and or account numbers.

I've already uninstalled everything I've put on it. transferred all my files over the lan to my new laptop (it took about 16 hours to transfer 75gigs of music alone)
I cleared out my info from firefox, and just uninstalled that.
I'm about to go through my c drive an erase any left-over folders.
already changed the name of the administrator account, and gave it a generic password for the time being.
anything else I should do? I don't want to reformat, as I don't have a replacement for the OS

And 16 hours to transfer 75gigs? Jeez, going from my external to my onboard with 90+ gigs only takes like an hour. USB2.0
