Just get a Logitech or Kensington and be done with it. Dell sucks!

I personally don't prefer logitech keyboards. I love their mice and recommend them.

My advice is to find the key or keys that squeak. Make sure it is clean under there by popping them off and using cleaner, duster, whatever. Maybe put some vaseline on the knob and put the key back on it. Who knows what a little WD-40 might do? Miracles, perhaps?

If it bothers you enough, then send it back for a replacement or just buy a new one. I've never had problems with any of my Dell peripherals and it sounds like you just got a less than perfect one. But keyboards are cheap so it's not going to break the bank to buy one either.

Find a user computer shop, buy an old and heavy IBM keyboard ... preferably one new enough to have the windows button.

Not sure about others, but I don't think any other keyboard comes close in feel. They are getting harder and more expensive. Everytime I find a couple I purchase them as I tend to go through about 2 keyboards a year; either wearing them out or more likely spilling stuff on them.

It's not that it's broken. Alot of Dell keyboards just have a cheap feel compared to others.

The squeak that he's describing isn't normal. I don't know about feel (I don't pay much attention to keyboard feel as long as it's working), but my workplace has used nothing but Dells for years and they aren't supposed to squeak.
