Agreed there should be some restrictions, but i don't have much sympathy for this occasion, cause they were stupid in not wearing their seatbelts, HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE!!!! well I guess that's not only the teenager's problem though, I think the parent is also accountable too, I would never think about driving with out my seatbelt, but you know who engrained that into my head? My parents, also I know its not too likely but every kid who gets their license should go through a performance driving class, I use to think i was a great driver when i was 15-18 or whatever until I started participating in autox events every month, now I'm not the greatest driver, but I'll tell you this, with that experience I have become a MUCh better driver, if i feel my back end come out in the rain i don't freak out I know what to do, same thing in other positions. I think a class like this paired up with the normal class would save many more lives not just for Teenagers, but everyone.

Well, you could be stupid enough to say you aren't at all sympathetic after hearing about two kids dying in an accident.

Yes, they should have worn seatbelts, but they were freaking kids. Thank god not all children die after making a stupid decision, or no one would make it to 18.

Also, 16 year olds should not be allowed to drive.

I'm not sympathetic because they could have easily saved their lives, but noooo they want to be cool because they don't want to wear their belts, I see it all the time, I don't care if you're an adult or a kid, wear your freakin seatbelt and save your life, it's pretty stupid to be that niave to not wear your belt, people make choices in life some dumb some good, but not wearing your seatbelt is dumb, also traveling at a high rate of speed in a SUV, they were doing all the wrong things, so tell me why should I feel sorry for someone who is breaking all the laws?

I did do stupid things and I think they are stupid, like running over a curb at around 55mph was probably the stupidest thing i did, and I just turned 20 so i'm still in their age range. I took responsiblity for my own action. I know that i'm suppose to wear my seatbelt because I know and I'm not stupid not too. There are just too many kids out there that do things like this which makes me think this way, I went to highschool with a bunch of kids that went out to drink then drive, brag around like oooo yeah i don't wear a seatbelt.....i'm sorry but don't care if they're kids.

any parents want to chime in?

Teenagers 16 maybe 17 should not be allowed to drive with passengers at night or unless supervised in the day. I think here in WA they chaned the law where you can't be out driving in the car after a certain time if your 16 or something with passengers. Of course not many kids abide by the law.

Statistics proves it, as the article said. I mean back just a few years when I was 16 whenever I was with my freinds all you wanted to do was crazy stuff and show off. Its so true.

Technically, the girls that died weren't driving. Though they apparently didn't have seatbelts.

I don't care how stupid it is to not wear a seatbelt. They screwed up and they died. I'd say the cost of their screw up was a little high. One day you'll be dead- let's see if people are critical of you, or are just sorry to see you've gone.

That was off-topic I suppose.
