I was planning on getting an apartment up in the la habra area but i think i can swing a house. (not in same area, but within reasonable driving distance) I live in temecula now and house prices have gone up ALOT. I'm looking at wildomar right now (Just south of lake elsinore) and thats probably where I will go. Decent sized house for under $250. Any better ideas? I am not going to rent.

If you're still driving to La Habra I wouldn't consider Wildomar "reasonable driving distance" just 'cause traffic is terrible. If Wildomar is okay you could also look north/east of the 10/15 intersection. What about a townhouse in La Habra? There's tons of those, like on Lambert.

Check the south end of Whittier (just north of Imperial Highway) for semi-affordable houses ($250K or less). Most of the area reminds me of Tijuana but I live in a white-trash cul-de-sac neighborhood there. You should've bought a year or two ago.

I think the only area in So Cal for that price is off the coast................ about 4 feet under the water (hehe).

Corona, but the prices are going up pretty quickly. I have a friend who bought one at $2XX,000 two years ago and it is now worth about or almost $400k. 3200 square feet, or something like that.
