Default What would it cost?

I was just curious as to what the housing market in the rest of the country is like compared to here in Irvine, CA where I live...

2000 sq. ft. house
4 bedroom
3 bath
lot size of 4000 sq ft.

Here in Irvine, this house would cost you around $800,000.00

Here in Omaha, a house like that would cost $150,000-$200,000.

The downside, of course, is you have to live in Omaha.

That would have been about $170k six years ago here in central VA. It's about $300k now.

We had an office relocation a few years ago from northern CA. One guy sold his 1600 sq/ft house and bought a huge 5000 sq/ft house here. I think it was an even trade.

My neighbor across the street has his house up for sale. 2350 sq ft, 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, 2 car garage, 1 acre lot(43,560 sq ft), asking $188,500. This is in rural NC.
