Default So who's been to Amsterdam?

I'm heading to Amsterdam next month and wanted to see if anyone had any experiences over there.

Don't miss the Heineken factory tour, but don't plan on driving anywhere afterward. Have dinner at a Dutch Indonesian restaurant and order Ristafel. It's about 20 dishes:

The hotels are terrible and expensive.

Yeah I was checking out the Hotels and opted for an apartment for the week instead, and actually ended up getting it for cheaper than a hotel stay.

I used to live not too far from there. LOVED it. Everyone speaks English better than most Americans, they are friendly, and the girls are hot and put out!

Have fun

I stayed at a hostel outside of Amsterdam. It was much cheaper, on the beach, and most importantly close enough to make day trips to the city. They even had a shuttle service four times a day to Amsterdam!

The Heineken Factory is definitely fun, but you only get 3 beers per tour now(July '07), plus a cool souvenir!

I liked the city when I was there but I loved the small towns I visited. Very friendly people and very open minded.
