^ I doubt that

US is too caught up in thier baseball, basketball and all other sports they concentrate on. Soccer (or Futebol in other continents of the world) is the ONLY sport anyone cares about in other parts of the world. Until recently it was the only sport ever played pro in my country. Now other sports are played but not much emphasis on them. The "worlds" sport as they say.
When theres a big match going on, everything else stops in europe! (funny though, if the US win a game, all these new US soccer "fans" who never watch the sport will come out of the woodwork )

I honestly think it will be a euro or S.american team, who has never won before. Mex,Germany,Holland,Spain,England and Switzerland and looking very good.

IMHO the best part about the world cup is anything can happen...almost impossible to pic a winner based on qualifying games...

Who is "WE"

If you are reffering to the US, well again, do you watch soccer? If so, you would know the circumstances behind that win. The coach we had at the time was a complete moron. He used all of our older and less talented players against the US figuring he would save the younger and more rapid players that we had for the last 2 games. Well his statagy sucked and bit him in the ass, and hence he was fired shortly after the games. He apparantly underestimated the US, which isnt hard to do anyway. I also remember one game with us being down one man! So we were playing with one less player on the field. Then he uses the oldest goal-keeper on deck. There was also a few yellows that shouldve been handed out
