dumb. Look at these bizarre and idiotic news clippings. Is it just me, or do you have to be a total cretin to think that there's a monkey-man terrorizing your city?

Sunchild,

You ask "Do you have t obe a cretan....what's going on here?"

No, you don't have to be a cretan to get all involved into hype that is caused by the media (any form of communication) and masses. This is especially true with cultures that have strongs beliefs in the mystics.

In any case, who are you or I to say that a select few did or did not see a "Monkey Man". Maybe two or three did see and the rest just claim they saw what they think they saw.

Who are you or I to say that other life from other planets don't exist? Maybe a handful have seen them, or even been kidnapped by them.

Who are you or I to say that Elvis is really dead?

Here's another example of what media and masses have spun out of control back in the day with a supposedly civilized and modern society:

Good counter-point. The truth is, we may never know the truth. We shouldn't be so quick to judge.

Did you guys read the articles? The people who are claiming that they saw monkey-man are nuts. Then they quote a guy who explained it as follows:

"These are cases of an extreme form of pathological lying, consisting of telling stories without discernible or adequate motive. This state of mind is called 'pseudologia fantastica', Mr Edamaruku added.

What kind of nonsense is that?

And why are the cops so confused? They've got "Central Intelligence" working on this case? I'm gonna get bummed out if this isn't some kind of joke.

Yes,

I have read the article and many others like it. What the Central Intelligence office and the Intelligence Bureau are looking into, is where this story started from. They are trying to find the source and the perpetuators of the story to stop and and possibly find some kind of fault onto those individuals. However, they have to also appear to be looking for the "Monkey-Man"....whether they are doing it for show or not, we won't know until they find the originator of the story or the "Monkey-Man"

You have to realize what kind of society these agencies are working in, they have to uphold common law, yet not conflict their practices with what the society at whole sees as the norm....here's an example in the U.S.:

There are popular statements, and mentalities that there is a clear cut separation of state and church in our gov't, public schools, public places, and so forth. So, why is it that when I swear in a court room, I am swearing on a Bible? I am not Christian....I am Hindu. Why are my state tax dollars going to rebuild and pay for PRIVATE CHRISTIAN schools? There is no percentage of state or federal tax monies going to the Bhuddist, Ba'hai, or Hindu schools in Chicago? I can give you examples like this all day long....

Let's go back to early time periods when the popular belief was that people came from "heaven", and pointed up towards the sky. People believed that all the way until our societies' started sending monkeys, dogs, and people up there. Where'd the heavens go then...or where the heavens further out?

Do we see those people from earlier time periods as cretans? In a hundred years from now, do you think the people of that civilization will see us as cretans for not believing in other inter-planetary life forms, for using up our Earth's natural resources in the quantities we do, and so forth?

Sort of like those 12 S2000's on a Honda lot somewhere in SoCal.

I just got off the phone with an affiliate developer in New Delhi, then read this story...wish that happened in the reverse order, would have been entertaining to hear his take on it.

Uhh... you lost me somewhere along there Luder. Sorry, I'm really trying to understand, but this is just too silly.

I think lvs2k has it right. This is like the nutty Unarians that think UFO's will land in the USA. I can accept the monkey-man thing, if it's a fringe phenomenon.

I still think its bizarre and I dislike the idea of that many people being so gullible. I guess this ties into the discussion about guns, since that monkey man wouldn't last long in the ghettos of america.
