Default Someone damaged my S2000 side mirror and left fender

I stayed over my friend's place and in the morning I found out someone hit my S2000 on the left mirror and left fender. I got an estimate and it gonna cost about 750 bucks. I really want to catch who ever did the damage to my car. Any suggestion of how to catch this person? I know who ever did this will do it again if I park my car in this area. Someone must be jeallous of my S2000.

Are you saying it was vandalism, not sideswiped hit and run?

From your description it seems like a car ran across the left side of your S2000. Or was it intentionally inflicted damage? You should be able to tell.

IMO, it'll probably be next to impossible to catch whoever did this, unless you see a car with damage that corresponds to your vehicle's damage.

Even then, very tough to prove unless there was a witness.

It is definitely vandalism and not a drive by accident. My car got a flat tire before this incident. Someone opened the cap and let go all air. I thought it was just someone messing around but I did not know that they actually go that far with the damage. I am thinking about using some hidden camera but it is not cheap to get them setup. I know for sure if I still park my car there, that person will does it again. It is just I can't tell which day he/she will does it again. With a hidden camera, I might able to find out who. Is there a rental place where I can rent hidden camera and not have to buy them...

if you have the patience, grab a baseball bat, pack a sack lunch, and wait in the bushes at night until it happens again. or under a large box in the garage.

The satisfaction of jumping out of the bushes and breaking both the guys kneecaps will be well worth it. Then run away and deny that you were anywhere near your car at that time. Set up a good alibi beforehand!

Probably some punk neighborhood kids. Cripple them for life, i'm not concerned about teaching any lessons here.
