So yesterday this small pile of excrement, about 1.5 inches in diameter, showed up on my bathroom floor. I didn't know what it was, so I cleaned it up. It's almost like gravel and the shape of it is conical, so I know it's being released directly above the floor. This morning I wake up to find it again, nearly in the same spot. Any ideas of what it's coming from?

Please no jokes on getting whatever that's doing this potty trained! Thanks.

 

Some sort of rodent it seems. Packrat? Field mouse? I don't know what sort of small critters you have in Southern California...

wow. that is friggin weird. you need to set up a video camera in your bathroom to see what is doing that. i've never seen rodent crap so neatly piled together. maybe they're insect eggs or something.

 

I was thinking they could be wood shavings from termites.

That doesn't look like shit....looks more like eggs....as the days get warmer more insects seem to come out of whatever hole they came from.
