Yea i thought about buying a bunch too, but then there's like not much demand out right now. The gamestop and best buy by my house had plenty left over at 6pm.
However, i bet other parts of the country are in short supply of psps. That's where the ebay peeps can make some $$.
If it was the christmas season, it'd be a different story.

 

Got mine today [launch] with Metal Gear Acid.

 

I got mine about 1AM on the 23rd. Went to a 24 hour walmart and they happend to be rolling out the psp's on the floor that night thinking it was the 24th. I acted quickly and snagged one while I had the chance. Sweet little machine. Picked up Ridge Racer and Metal Gear Acid today for it. Deff worth the $$ IMO. Fun lil gadget.
