Default SR20DE into a CIVIC???

Hey, I don't know if you guys caught this in the movie (The Fast and the Furious)...but when Johnny Tran was hassling that one guy for motors at his shop. He stuck the poor guys head in the engine bay of a Civic. Where he says how needs SR20DE motors. Now, since when have people been doing SR20DE powerplant transfers into a Civic chassis? I found that seen a little ridiculous. Not even that...why go for a SR20DE swap...why not a SR20DET? Might as well do the turbo engine right...considering he's doing something people don't do on a regular basis (or have done). Oh well, i'm sure there were some other blunders in the movie I missed.

Oh, if that Supra was a 10 sec car...wouldn't it have smoked that F355. Looks like it hung pretty good until he hit that nitrous button. Ummm...ok. I know few folks with 10-12 sec Supras that run on Vipers and TT C5's. Ummm...last I heard, F355's weren't nowhere near as fast as those cars. Not to mention i've seen "heavily" modded Supras w/o nos running on F355's on the highway.

It's like those movies that show computers running OSs and software that don't exist.

You're the man! I was noticing the same thing last night, and I talked about all night long with my friends(until they said *get over it*). It should smoked the f355 by 10-15 cars.

Oh well, I guess it can't be a perfect world. Too much yapping in the movie. However, the race scenes were pretty cool. Other than that looks like in the perfect movie world...everyone with a "riced" out car isn't all show...they have much go to go along with it.

How bout spending $100K on a Honda 2000? I wonder what he has under the hood to have spend that much money. I didn't hear a blow off valve or see an fmic on that Honda 2000, so it wasn't turbo'ed.

I think Johnny Tran got ripped off. No wonder why he made that guy drink oil. Not only was he pissed about the civic engines, but also about the guy over charging his S2000 parts. It's a good thing he died in the movie, or else he would have been hunting him down again.

Just think, he spent that much money on his Honda 2000 and was even with a Jetta, until he used NOS. If I spend $100K on my engine, it better beat a freakin' Jetta w/o using NOS.

What's up with Honda 2000?
