The Station Fire in LA has turned horrific!
The fire in the San Gabriels has turned horrendous. It now stretches from Tujunga to Altadena -- 15 miles. We've lived here since 1981 and it's far and away the worst I've ever seen. The sun is a dull red. Thousands have been evacuated and 10,000 homes are threatened, including many above us in La Crescenta. The fire has crested the mountains and beyond -- 25,000 acres burned and 0 percent containment. The flames at night are horrendous. The air is like being inside an incinerator, just horrible. Everybody is hunkered down, no traffic, no sign of life. We're OK unless an airborne ember ignites the Verdugos, then all bets are off.

Wow that sucks. Hope you'll be ok. Can you soak your house and roof w/ water to try to keep the embers from igniting the house?
I have a friend in Valley Village, near Burbank. I hope the fires aren't close to him or coming his way.

That's scary. I was in Australia when the recent bushfires were on there and a lot of people died. The speed of the fire was so intense jumping 20 meters a second, no way to out run it. It gave me a new respect for the power of bush fires, if I ever build a home near the bush it will be in the earth, sealed up and safe from bushfire
