Set up a sprinkler on each corner of your roof and make sure you can pump water separate to the mains supply (eg from a pool or tank) as the water pressure will drop right down due to power outages and other people fighting fires.

Good luck

LA County Fire is abandoning Mt. Wilson. Too bad about the 22 TV and radio towers, but the observatories won't be replaced. I'm really bummed!

Be careful. I can see the smoke all the way out here and the air quality is pretty irritating. Hopefully Jimena can bring some relief, but heavy rains will bring serious mudslide concerns too.

I just heard that two firefighters were killed near Acton when their truck went off the road (because of the thick smoke) and rolled. God bless them and their families; I can't imagine doing their job.

Thanks, Raj. So far so good. The fire has doubled in size overnight to 85,000 acres.
