I got an email supposedly from Visa stating that my credit information was amongst a database of stolen information. They sent me an email containing hundreds of peoples' emails, names, addresses, full credit card numbers etc. I've reported this to the FBI, they told me to call Secret Service, the office was closed on Saturday, so I will be calling them back tomorrow and getting this stuff taken care of.

More details:

I got an email from noreply@visa.com:

Subject: ERY IMPORTANT : regarding your stolen credit card after a purchase from a car parts website

Body
Hello, I have to tell you that I've found your credit card in a database of a seller of stolen credit cards. To prove it i will post here all the credit cards that i've found. you will see yours to, so please call your bank to cancel the card and also give them the date of the transaction to allow them to trace back the merchant and the website that has allowed the hacker to steal the credit card data and to close it down. Here are some links to visa.com that you might find helpfull: http://usa.visa.com/merchants/mercha...ort_fraud.html http://usa.visa.com/personal/securit...eft_search.jsp Here is the credit card data, search for yours here :
***********************************************Thi s part is very long and contains peoples' names, addresses, credit card type, number, expiration date, and ccw, date of transaction and amount of purchase, obviously I'm not posting that sensitive information on a public forum, nor am I sending it out***********************************
Pls contact the banks or the police or FBI and try to fix the problem. I just discover it but i can't do much about it since im not in USA nor an american citizen. thank you

If you want me to check if you are on there give me your name or email and I will let you know. I'm not sending this information out nor am I posting it anywhere. I hope no one else's credit information was stolen from here, but there were HUNDREDS of peoples' credit card information in that email.

Let us know what happens from this, i ordered tires from them a while back, I watch my account and haven't seen anything weird. But this is not good, and it stinks cause they had the lowest prices on Hankook Rs-2's when i was buying those.

I almost forgot to mention, I ordered the tires in April of 2007 and never did have any fraudulent charges.

Mmmmmm, this is a toss up - is Visa dumb enough to send you an email with a list of other folks' personal info or are you dumb enough to believe they did?

Maybe you can explain this situation a little better. I think people are confused as to the details of what happened... I know I am.

Visa should have never sent you the credit card numbers of other customers. Something doesn't add up and i'd be concerned you are really being set up for identity theft.
