Default Still slacking?

I just wanted to say something in reference to all the slacking posts that were going on a bit ago. I am quite sure that most everyone understood the humor that they were written with. However, I have had one person (a personal friend, actually) explain that he found the posts to be in very bad taste and even offensive. I wanted to make a public apology to anyone who took offense to what I considered to be some of the funniest stuff happening around here lately. It was never intended to be what this person claims it to be...

The posts on my part were 100% jest, making light of a ridiculous situation that I find myself in right now. Just having a little fun.

Carry on...

Ditto.

On another note. I went on a 2 week vacation, came back today, took all of 5 minutes to catch up on all the "work" piled on my desk.

What specifically did he/she find offensive? Some of us are caught in loser jobs/companies that do not fully utilize our capabilities? What is funny about that? The situation is humorous to make fun of but I would blow outta here in a heartbeat if a more interesting/higher paying job came along.

What I think this person has found so offensive was that we, the perceived slackers, were happy about and pleased with slacking. I thought for sure that everyone would see my posts as all in humor. I even said on many occasions that I am looking for something that suits my work habits better. I'm a little puzzled as to how someone could get offended by this, but it happened. And for that, as I said, I'm really sorry.

That must feel good, TJ, to wrap up 2 weeks off in 5 minutes...I feel your pain, bro...

I guess the person was having trouble picking up on the sarcasm and rolling eyes and general bitching about our tremendous boredom.

Crap, it is 10 minutes after 12 noon here, I'm gonna have to put in for Overtime.

My question is, if someone is a true slacker, and can pull it off with out a hitch, what's it to anyone else?
I could be considered a slacker, working short hours, and not that hard. but when there is something to be done, it gets done. if I have to work till 9pm I don't complain. Sure I get the ribbing from my friends for being home at 3 pm, while I make twice what they do, but that's life. I'm not gonna feel guilty about it. Hell If I can set them up in a simialar situation I would. but anyways I started babbleing here and I kinda lost track of what I was trying to say.

I'm a professional slacker!
On occasion, there is so much down time, that I tell my wife "I don't get paid for what I do,,, I get paid for what I might have to do"

She just shakes her head

I'm not offended, just very jealous. No work, high pay, short hours, sweet.

TrojanHorse----------> What kind of work do you do if in 2 weeks you only had 5 minutes of "work" to catch up on. That sounds like something that I am interested in.
