Well, I've been married for close to six years. I'm an absolute car & motorcycle fanatic. Other than the occasional "do you realize I don't care about cars/bikes like you" she tolerates my interest & babbling. I do have another hobby, coaching soccer. The wife drives a luxury SUV, it was what she asked for. She likes the idea of having a convertible (my W/R will be here next month). I managed to get her into NASCAR until Dale Sr. was killed in Feb. Even got her to bend on getting a motorcycle only priority #3 on the list. She stated when we first married she'd leave if I bought a bike. Now I can have one once we take care of a couple other things. A baby & a bigger home. She's been more intolerant of my spending on things for the Stook though especially the Wheels/Tires I have ordered that cost $2700. "What's wrong with the one's that come on it"? Especially after her seeing my friend AutoX his a couple of weekends ago. He races his & uses the OEM's so why do you "need" lighter one's? Overall I'd say I'm rather fortunate for her to tolerate my "vices". I live with her & wouldn't want to live without her.

My EX (and yes this was ONE of the reasons I broke up with her! ) would scream at the top of her lungs when I hit VTEC "AAAhHHH, SLOW DOWN, SLOW DOWN" ... while I was in 1st gear!

It wasn't a stook, only a measly ITR , but I am sure the effect would've been the same.

Wow, I just thought about it, and I'd have to say that this would easily be a major reason for me to break up with someone too.

Hm...

I can only afford either a GF or an S2000, not both.

I used to budget $500/month to spend on women but all that did was fatten my bank account due to a severe shortage of eligible bachelorettes.

So that's where I got about half of my down payment for the Stook. No joke.

I say it's a toss up, car or girl. Most of us will prefer whichever one we don't have at the time.

My girlfriend is also my speed limiter. When I really want to open it up, I just don't take her along with me.

My GF is very supportive of my Stook habit. She comes from a very mechanical family. Both her brothers are mechanics and her dad has a Porsche so they like the fact that I'm interested in cars even if it is a 'japanese pusser'.

She's not so supportive of my addiction to this board however. Mind you, she's currently watching "The Nanny" so it's not like she can complain.
