My grandfather who had an accident years ago and had multiple surguries would swear by "Tea Tree Oil" and vitamin E oil. I don't know if you can even get "Tea Tree Oil" anymore but I'm pretty sure it is mostly vitamin E oil. Put it on your marks before you go to bed and it should help out a lot.

None of that stuff works. I have stretch marks near my arm pits from lifting and tried the vitamin e idea. Didn't do anything. I spoke with my doctor about it and he also said that those products won't have any real effect. They will just fade over time.

I guess plastic surgery would make the stretch mark into a minimal scar...

I have the same issue from the ol college gut that I grew, as well as from around the same armpit areas and on the inside of my biceps slightly but they aren't noticeable, really. Even when I lost all the weight the marks remained. Cocoa Butter did f-all for it, vitamin e did nothing either.

I'd be curious to know what would actually get rid of them without having to go the way of surgery. I have no problem telling people they are from when I gained like 30 pounds over a couple months, but I'd prefer to not have to explain they are from my visit to a plastic surgeon to get rid of the marks from when I gained like 30 pounds over a couple months.

There is no solution but time. Vitamin e is a sensitizer and does crapall. The Serious skin stuff from a derm just thins it out, but can be a PITA for fair skinned (Type 1) folks.
