Actually, DUCK tape was the original spelling. Duck vs duct
A few months ago I'd heard of an experiment to determine what seals air ducts best. I don't recall all the stuff they tested, but I recall the loser: duct (or duck) tape.
Duct tape is used on air ducts and whatnot. Duck tape is the silver do-it-all tape that we have all come to know and love
.
Well this makes me glad the previous owner of my car put an aftermarket top on it. This lady annoys me and I don't even know her. I swear, people will complain about anything nowadays.

It sounds like she isn't relatching the latches and just lets them hang after unlatching them.
I did this by accident on one side once and it caught on the latch while trying to go down.
I noticed it quickly and it didn't do any damage, but it sounds like this happened a few times to her and it finally ripped.

Have you seen the guy In MI complaining that Honda won't honour his 6 yr 100K warranty -> he has 8 years and 99.000 miles. Even my dear departed Mom knew that it was the first occurance of 6/100, not the latter of.... You should U-Tube it, he has props and all - reminds me of some of the weaker corp presentations I've been blessed with attending over the years. Best of all is he is from Detroit - surely he knows someone who can tell him his case is universally without merit, no?
The OEM tires were Michelin Pilot MXM's. They were a high performance tire and if you were to take the time to read the secret code stamped on the side of the tire you'd clearly see the abysmal treadwear rating of 140.
The plaintiff apparently
a.) could not read
b.) had no idea what the DOT labeling meant
c.) all of the above
I actually kept my MXM's on for the first 25,000 miles but they really should have been replaced sooner. And, I understand they weren't cheap tires. I believe at the time, Tire Rack wanted about $200 apiece. But still, a class action lawsuit for an $800 set of tires that didn't suffer catastrauphic failure or any manufacturing defect? They simply wore down fast and uniformly as they were designed to do.
Needless to say, the reply the law firm received from me was probably not the reply they were hoping for. I also wrote Volvo and offered to testify on their behalf.
There is no shortage of idiots and stupid is forever!
hmm, my drivers side top latch doesn't click in when I'm getting ready to put the top back.. I didn't know that It could cause wear a hole in the top!... I have had my 03' (32k) for a couple weeks, I believe the top is new, it was cut by some thieves while it was on a car lot one night. I guess i'd better go to honda this afternoon and see if I can get a new one ordered. I try my best to keep it in it's place when I put the top back and not let it dangle. I think there is a piece broken on the inside. It also falls down when the top is up after going over a big bump, kinda scares me sometimes! haha!

The tops on our cars are not designed well, and Honda doesn't stand up for its design.
