Default Sushi

I go out for Sushi 3/4 times a week. So I get the idea, let me try to make this at home.
The rice, fish, every thing else came out great. The problem I have is with the seaweed wrap. Brand name Wang/the exp date 2009/roasted seaweed/sushi nori/50 sheets. The stuff smells like some one just pulled it out of the water. It also dose not chew well like the stuff I get at my local retaurants. Do I need to prep the wrap some way? Is there a way to cut down the smell and taste of the wrap? Or did I just get the wrong kind of wrap?

The same thing happened to me when I tried to prepare sushi at home. In a restaurant, you can't even tell it's there but when I made it, the seaweed was nasty and got in the way.

dont get the roasted one.. you need to get the non-rosted ones..

roasted ones are too crunchy to wrap..

I remember my ex-gf making it.....she also prepared it someway with soaking it in water. Can't remember the specifics, sorry. They come in like packages of 4 million....trial and error!
