excellent choice. i am in the market for the same exact lcd. i was also torn between the sharp and the sony, but after many visits to the stores, going to the sony store solved it for me.

actually lined up together the bravia 26, 32, 40. the smaller the brighter. i guess the light has a harder time traveling that distance, but the 32 was well within my acceptance level. so the 32 bravia it is for me as well. i just got to wait for the next best buy family sale so i can pick it up for $2045. anyone else have a good price on this?

Nice choice on the Bravia. I'm looking for a 30-37" LCD and have been researching everything from lower end (Westinghouse, Syntax, etc) to the higher end units (Bravia, Aquos). I had the opportunity to view the Westinghouse and Bravia side by side and there is a tremdous difference in clarity and brightness.

Will you be re-working your center channel? How does the Bravia sound w/o your home theater setup?
The sound of the bravia w/o the HT setup is great! I was surprised how well it sounded as is! Almost as impressed as it's PQ. Very clear even at very high volume without any noticable distortion. What do you mean "re-working" the center channel?

My girlfriend has had the 40" Bravia for a few months now. I love that TV more than I love her. I'm not joking. After a fight, I actually went out to "sleep" on the couch while she slept in her bed. I really went out so I could watch Skinemax in high def.

Just looks to me like the center channel speaker is firing down.

Yeah, I'm not quite finished with the set up yet. Gotta find a way to angle it straight. For some reason, when I hooked it up, it had a tenancy to face downwards although it still sounds good and dialog is spot on.

Well I don't know about you guys but Im getting an Ilo. I don't know if you guys know what brand that is, but it's an 32 inches that have HDTV and have a 1380x720 resolution. My friend is hooking me up with a brand new set for only 300!! I don't care what brand it is, as long it's a 300 dollars LCD that's 32"! I'll try hooking it up to my PC for a monitor.

Decided to go with the Sony Bravia XBR. No complaints whatsoever. Compared both side by side and the Sony to my eyes was just a little clearer. Both were great moniters. Thanks!

Nice TV! Is that a 37 or 40 inch?

Costco has the 32 for $1699, you might want to go check it out! I needed a bigger monitor so I didn't get it.
