Tablet PC suggestions?
Now that the Pentium M based Tablets are coming out, battery life is getting much better.
On paper, the Motion M1300 (1.0Ghz P-M) and the Compaq TC1100 (P-M 1.0Ghz) have the longest battery life at just under 4hrs. Both are slate style, so they also weigh the least. The Compaq has a 10.4in screen and weighs ~3.1lbs (w/o the detachable keyboard). This is the smallest screen. The Motion has a 12.1in screen and weighs ~3.3lbs.
I've used the older Compaq TC1000 and the Toshiba 3505 (the new M200 with 1.5Ghz P-M is almost out). I prefer convertibles like the Toshiba over slates like the Compaq because I mainly use it as a laptop, but use the tablet for quick notes and sketches. They are heavier, but better for what I need them for. Most people looking at tablets like the slates, because they are lighter and do what tablets are mainly designed for. The older Compaq was a dog because it used a 1.0Ghz Transmeta CPU. Now that they've switched to Centrino for the TC1100, it's performance should be on par with everyone else. The keyboard is a bit weird and small though.
It sounds like the TC1100 would be what you're looking for.
I'm personally looking at the new Fujitsu T3000 (1.3Ghz P-M, 4.2lbs conv't) and waiting for the Toshiba M200 (1.5Ghz P-M, 4.3lbs, conv't).

Thanks!
I def need a tablet instead of a convertible...
But at only 4 hrs of battery life I probably have to wait.. I need something I dont have to recharge until the end of the day..
8 hr battery life would be much better.
