Talked to a Cop

My point was that cops are people too. Not every cop is a bad cop, in fact 99.9% of cops are good people. It's just those few bad apples that bother me.
Personally, I'm not a "cop hater." I have many friends that I grew up with that went into law enforcement, current members of the Miami-Dade PD and one FBI Agent. All cool guys. When I get pulled over, its more of a "ah shit, another friggin' speeding ticket - I should seek counseling for my speed addiction"
) type of feeling.
The few times that I've become irrate during a traffic stop is when the cop starts abusing his power and authority towards me. Like in my prior post, the cop who took out his personal frustrations on me. I think that's wrong.
And to JRM. I apologize for my remarks. It was unwarranted as I used you to prove a point. I'm glad that you choose to reply in an intelligent well-mannered way. I guess we can agree to disagree on some discussions.
And Merry Christmas to you and your family and to everyone else - Happy Holidays.

This morning I walked into our building, to the second floor offices of our large company. I passed many people, like every morning, sitting at their desks, drinking coffee, saying Good Morning. As I approached a desk near mine, a person was sitting there I didn't recognize. Must be a new hire, I thought. I said Good Morning. He stares at me, opens a desk drawer, reaches in, pulls out a gun and blew my brains out.
OK I made this up. But this situation is a possible scenerio for every cop that pulls over a speeder or traffic light runner. Anybody that faces this can be expected to have a bad day.
I have been harrassed and also complemented for being courteous (while being handed a ticket). Let's give cops a break. My 2 cents.
