Team SWIFT - applications being accepted
I can't believe I missed this club for more than a month!
I hearby humbly submit my application for membership in Team SWIFT. My first evidence of my worthiness:
Second, consider the purchases I have made to support my lifestyle: seat heaters, leather jacket with ThinSulate lining, hats, gloves, scarves, earmuffs, sunglasses.
Third, I offer these scientific findings to the club for its benefit: rain will not enter the cockpit of the S2000 in significant quantities if speed is maintained above 45 mph; pea-sized hail requires a minimum speed of 65 mph, and stings like he!! if you slow down; snow, on the other hand, only requires 20 mph. Breaking waves on Seattle's Lake Washington, as experienced when crossing the Highway 520 floating bridge in 30+ mph winds, cannot be avoided by speed, especially since traffic is usually crawling in those conditions; I suggest rolling the window up on the side facing the wind, and using the farthest lane from the waves.
Fourth, please see jerrypeterson's affidavit above, and feel free to contact my long-suffering wife or other Pacific Northwest S2000 owners, several of whom thought my car didn't have a top.
Thank you for your consideration,
Ted

The only time my top has been up is once when carrying my rims home and once when my girlfriend had wet hair. But never again, I don't even put it up to park most of the time. I once got caught in what looked like a monsoon and instead of pulling over just drove faster then the rain could get in, I got home and was amazed at only wetness on the sun visers and my hat.
How 'bout this...
I have NEVER driven my S2000 with the top up !!!
And, just this Saturday, despite the rain, the top stayed down!
As a bonus, I received numerous smart ass remarks from passers by who just did not understand!

Being Tedster's long suffering wife, I can attest to his topless attitude. For the most part I have learned to dress warm and cover myself in plastic. And as most of the Pacific Northwest group can attest, I am no longer concerned with how I look. I tried for months to find something to keep my long hair under control and find plastic clothes that were attractive, but its just not possible.
I would like to make is clear that I love my husband very much despite his obsession with his car and driving with the top down.

I'd like to take this opportunity to express the boards appreciation of SWIFT-enabling spouses/significant others, you make our work that much more meaningful. A question for the male members out there (uhhh, did I just say male member?) - first date and the girl asks you to put the top up - what do you do?
Also, a note to Daryl: Platic clothes may look ugly, but Latex is a whole different story

I believe I'm a qualified canidiate for this orginization...
BTW, ~68mph is required during moderate to heavy rain to avoid water coming in the cabin, not 110 :-)
(Note: This can be dangerious in your local communicate neighborhood, so please honk-loudly if you engaging in this)
