Default Tedow's QOTD #5: Is my toe broken? (gnarly pic inside)

Okay, I actually took this photo about a month ago, a day after playing ultimate frisbee in bare feet (hence the dirty toenails ). The grass was kinda wet, and upon attempting to stop one time, it felt like my toes kinda folded under a little. Hurt like hell, but I figured I had just jammed them. Then the next day they looked like this . How toes 2 and 4 got damaged but not #3, I'll never know. So whaddya think...is my toe broken? Is it possible to tell just by looking? Any solution for it other than giving it time and not banging it into things?

I know this is kind of an odd thread, but I was reminded of my toe today when I lightly banged my toe into my sofa and proceeded to curse extensively for a couple minutes til the pain went away.

Hope my ugly toes don't gross anybody out.

Yup, that is broken. I have broken many toes and fingers in my years of martial arts/football/soccer and they look like that.

Just tape it to the non-damaged middle toe to keep it supported and wait for Mother Nature to do her thing. Not much you can do for broken toes.

Heh, thanks for the input. Mother nature seems to be doing her thing...except for every couple weeks when I bang the toe into something .

Looks like my right foot when I missed a board break in Tae Kwon Do. Broke two toes (middle and index) when my toes caught the guy's fingers and part of the board, and he had his arms locked... hurt like a bitch for two days, then with a little ice and some sports tape, was fine. All ya gotta do is keep em taped, and if they hurt just a short bit of icing

and try not to kick things

PS: And DAMN you be hairy hehehee good for cold weather, outdoor sports, like rugby ^__^ (can you tell I like Rugby?)

Shave your toes

Well, at least you dont have giant toes like me. My second toe is longer than some of my friends' middle fingers.
