Default Thanks UPS!

I tell you... my luck lately has been really bad....

Was waiting for some car parts..... and UPS decided to take their time getting them from California to Cincy..... I could live with that..... but...

They said they would be here Thursday..... but Kathy & I were heading to Charlotte to have a belated Christmas with my son, daughter-in-law and grandkids.......

I called the seller, and he said they were not shipped signature required..... so I asked my neighbor to grab them off the porch when they showed up Thursday...

Neighbor checked Thursday a few times, then Friday day and finally Friday afternoon they found the dreaded UPS InfoNotice on the door saying the package needed a signature!!!!

We pulled in Saturday evening... I go next door and the neighbor gives me the InfoNotice....

I called UPS and they said it was up to UPS's discretion to require a signature!!

WTF?????????????

UPS tells me I can't go pick them up Sunday or Monday as they are closed..... and UPS says they will try and deliver them again Tuesday.... I will be at work then also!!

Sooooooooooooooooooooo....

1. I can't get my car back together now till I can re-order the parts and have them shipped to my work address.....

2. Parts that are in town will be sent back to the sender.....

3. Why the f*ck didn't UPS tell me up front, or tell the sender that a signature was going to be required?

That is just plain crappy customer service, and service in general.

And I'm just getting more pissed by the minute!

What a way to end the year, and start the new year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure what fedex vs UPS has to do with this. I've run into the exact same scenario with FedEx...

to the OP: Call in and tell them you would like to will call it, and pick it up. Or ask if you can leave a note on your door with your signature. I just changed mine to willcall with fedex, but they were just as annoying if not more so. Infact I've only had issues with FedEx, UPS is my go to personally.

No need for all the drama. You can execute an "electronic signature" on the UPS website that will satisfy their liability requirements. It takes seconds.

I must be challenged....... having problems with UPS My Choice also!

Yes, I can sign up and do that... but what gets me is that they just arbitrarily decided to require the signature....

If they had told me up front, instead of after the fact....... I could have made arrangements.... that is what I am upset about.

Here is what the website says....

"By selecting I authorize shipment release, I authorize UPS to deliver packages addressed to me at this address without obtaining a signature. I understand that the UPS driver retains discretion not to deliver a package depending on delivery conditions (such as adverse weather or safety)."

Soooooooooo... the driver can still not leave the package.

Guess our driver doesn't like us since we didn't get him a Christmas present!
