Or your driver was worried that someone might take the package off your porch and was simply trying to do you a favor... People have packages stolen all the time like that, especially around the holidays. One of my co-workers had that happen 2 years ago, lost hundreds of dollars worth of stuff... and he lived in a nice neighborhood , not OTR or something.

I am lucky in that UPS seems to deliver late to my place and I am usually home. I have had this same problem and it has actually resulted in things almost having to get sent back and becoming a problem. It is large items? I would suggest having them delivered to your work if thats an option. I have done this and it saves alot of trouble. No matter what you will eventually have an issue with any carrier. I have had things lost or damaged by all of them. So long as it gets taken care of I am ok with it. The worst was DHL but they are gone from the US so I don't need to worry about them.

Well, being that your from Cincinnati.. the driver probably did you a favor by preventing possible theft

I love watching COPS episodes when their in Cincinnati

I also have troubles with UPS/FedEx... The issue is, most of them either don't care because it's not their package/ shipment.. and
most of the other employees are pretty stupid and just don't give a sh!t

I just tried to give a fed-ex driver a box I thought was too large for the drop box at the curb when he got out of his truck. He was here at my building to unload it. He says if I handed it to him I would be charged a four dollar fee. So I go drop it in the box (it fit), then he walks over, opens the box and takes it to his truck. What a dikhead, why didn't he just take it from me?

A couple years ago I ordered a portable air conditioner. Fed-ex leaves it at the front gate to our gated community, two feet from the call box. Never called to say they were leaving it. When I left for work the next morning, I saw it sitting there. Luckily it wasn't stolen during the night or fed-ex would have owed me over $400.00.

Not to pick on fed-ex, just some stupid people they hire. The lady that emptied the drop box before this dikhead would come into my office and collect outgoing packages. She knew what customer service meant.

I'm really starting to think we have a lot of companies that have just gotten too big.... and now they can make the rules up as they go!

BTW... I did finally get my parts Tuesday..... delivery effort #3 for UPS. Of course, Kathy had to stay home and sign for the package!

With personal stuff, I've had nothing but issues with UPS. They pulled the same stunt on me, right about this time last year. I ended up not being able to get some equipment for a photo shoot which meant I had to rent the stuff I needed. It cost me almost $200 to rent the gear, which obviously cut into my profits on that shoot big time. Never again UPS. Never again.

That's why i always use FedEx. I ship a lot in my business and I can't take chances.
I'm not sure what fedex vs UPS has to do with this. I've run into the exact same scenario with FedEx..

FedEx is garbage in my experience. I have never really had problems with UPS (except them being late sometimes on their delivery). It was also a pain for me to get my deliveries/insurance info on those days because of holidays, as they were always "off" or "not available." So I dunno.

From what I am understanding you just needed to sign for it and no one was there to sign so they didn't leave the package?

The shipper did not state that a signature was required (I had actually called him to verify this before the first delivery attempt), so I figured it would be left on the porch as normally they do... and my neighbor was going to pick them up for me and hold them till we got back into town.

The driver decided on his own to require the signature.

That is what caused the problem......

So instead of the parts being delivered Thursday 12/29 they showed up for the 3rd try on Tuesday 1/3..... I had been planning on installing the parts over the New Years break when I was off work.
