have you tried Canon?? I checked around for my S600 battery and was shocked at the prices... called Canon and pid $35!

I don't know if this helps but... I bought my camera (Canon Powershot A50) and rechargeable battery from cameraworld.com and they have the Canon Photo NB-1L Battery for the PowerShot S100 at a price of $57.99.

Yeah.. I bought a spare for mine (which IMO you really need if you want to do any serious ammount of photography) and the price is a killer.

I've ordered the Ac adapter so when I'm doing in-house stuff (like macro photography of items for an online shopping cart) I can keep my batteries charged and ready for other situations.
