Besides the scooters, i was wondering if there were such a thing as a road bike (not the harley looking ones) with "automatic" transmission? thanks.

I don't know about road bikes, but I know Husquvarna or KTM used to sell a 4-spd auto enduro bike. So it has been done.

Honda made a CB750A (Automatic) back in 1976-78. Don't know if there was anything newer than that.
