And none about New Mexico.
I basically said that ABQ was not the spot to live. Just my opinion.

[QUOTE=pmptx,Dec 30 2009, 11:51 AM] For TX-Mt Pleasant is fairly close to DFW as is Wichita Falls (within 100 miles)
I assume when you say the valley you are talking southern TX.

i think madison would be cool, if you were still in college. as a recent grad...i think it'd be okay for a year or so. other than that...maybe look for a different job.
oh, and from the sound of it you haven't even applied for this job yet?

Live in Madison currently and am perfectly happy with it. Yea, there are liberals out the ass here, but It doesnt affect me any.
VERY intelligent city. High ratio of families with 2 parents as degree holders. Many High Tech, IT, BioTech, Research, etc business here.
There are MANY colleges here to choose from. I think last count was like 10? University of Wisconsin, Edgewood, Herzing, Madison Area Technical College, Madison Media Institute, ITT, Lakeland, Globe U, and there are still others I can't think of at the moment.
Cost of living is a bit higher, but there is almost always something going on. Winter doesn't stop this city much.
To me, this is the perfect size. Big enough to have three big malls, almost every store you can think of. Small enough to not have too bad of rush hours or crime like Milwaukee.

South: Low-cost of living, low taxes, warm weather, etc. You do have a lot of uneducated people (aka rednecks), and you may not find the entertainment you're looking for as a young graduate

Don't come live in California; we have too many people here already.
Please, please, please don't.

No more room here, move along. Thanks
Ok i lived in El Paso until i moved when i was 18. First and foremost...expect mexicans and spanish everywhere...EVERYWHERE!! yea theres a lot of things to do but mexicans are everywhere..and before anyone comes and says im a racist im not. im mexican myself so yea...cost of living there is cheap IMO. you can find a decent apt for 500-600 maybe less but youll prolly wont want to live there. If you want texas then i would pick el paso.
wichita falls...well IT SUCKS!! theres nothing to do, nowhere to go..(unless you drive to DFW about 2.5 hrs each way) and alot of rednecks/cowboys. that would be one of the last places on earth i would be if i was a grad!
but like other people said id go somewhere else.. by those choices id go to washington state
