These scientists are making me nervous.

Well, where would that be? I mean "well away from here" would have to mean well away from Earth wouldn't it?

The whole thing cracks me up both ways. No, I don't think it is likely that we'll blow ourselves up (or suck ourselves down) with the latest accelerator.
BUT, scientists are full of way too much hot air by claiming we know enough about black holes to know "for sure." Right. We know SO much about black holes and even just gravity. And on the day they're proven wrong, "oops..."
Maybe I'm biased. I've long held the sci-fi belief that at least some black holes were made by sufficiently advanced civilizations when they managed to accelerate enough mass to a high-enough speed.
