Ok not MY flag, my family's flag.
My parents have big white block walls at the entrance to their driveway. My mom was presented a flag from the VA when her father died 25 years ago- he was a veteran. She had never even broken the seal on the box. In the wake of recent events, she figured he would be pleased if we diplayed it. So on one of those nice big white walls, dad and I set up a spot light and hung the flag there. Looked beautiful.
Some worthless peice of pig crap stole it last night.
They cut the left 2" off, you know, the reinforced part that you hang it by, because the rope we hung it with went through there.

I can not believe someone would sink that low.
It's lettered on the back "Presented to Luther Clark in passing, thank you for your service to our great country"

If I find the scumbags, they're gonna have a 6'5", 300 pound problem.

I'm just blown away and needed to vent.

Thanks guys.

That is truly sad............... especially considering that flag was of particular significance to your grandfathers memory.

Just goes to show you that there are scumbags in every society.

I sincerely hope you recover it.

Sorry to hear that.
I can understand how your family must feel. I too have had some items stolen that belonged to a loved one who passed away not all that long ago. The nerve that some people have just infuriates me.
Best of luck in recovering the flag.

You don't suppose it could have been some terrorist supporters?
Flag does no one any good if they cut off the grommetts.

Thanks for the support guys.
I was/am outraged by the loathesome act.
I was at my parents using their garage to clear out corners and took a break to go grab a burger, on the way back in the drive I saw it was gone.
Called the sherrif, they were useless. "Oh, how much was it worth monetarily?" maybe $40-$50, "oh ok, we'll make a note". That's it. This was on the phone, weren't even going to send a deputy out.
I called the newspaper and they at least included it in a story they were running about current flag theft. Someone was caught trying to steal the flag from the Salvation Army!!

I'm proud to be an American, just the being a member of the human race part I'm a little ashamed of somethimes.

Thanks again guys.
