Things that strike me as being "odd" about some who post on this forum.

A couple things that strike me as "odd" are:

1. A person posts about how they got ripped off on Ebay / Paypal, then six other people post about how Ebay / Paypal is THE DEVIL, and "That's why I never use Ebay/Paypal anymore!!!!!" Wait a minute... You bid several thousand dollars on some item from a seller who had no feedback, then you sent the money by Paypal, thinking it works just like a credit card, and you can somehow dispute the transfer after the fact? Maybe a little more caution on the front end would have been advisable.

2. Someone posts "Why doesn't sponsor X answer their email??? I ordered something from them, and it's been 7 days, and I haven't heard anything from them, and I haven't gotten a reply to my messages." Usually it turns out the person has only been using one communication channel, like sending messages to one email address (the wrong one) and they could have been PMing the sponsor, or emailing them at the correct address, or calling them on the phone, but they decided to post a thread about it instead.

OK guys, I'm going to let you off the hook. So far, 14 different people have responded to this thread and every single one has been polite and almost congenial.
Remember that post some time ago where some guy posted a very controversial subject and got about 3-4 pages of flames? It was for one of his graduate course papers.
A friend is a student of the Social Sciences and wanted to see if statistical analysis of the responses would show any trends. The topic had to be something that could really be in someone's mind (mine - I really do think such things are "odd", so I thought "what the heck") and have the sufficient content to really piss a bunch of people off.
The "expected" result was an immediate and volatile response. 14 has exceeded the desired "n" value for a trend to be set to confirm the "anticipated" result. Although it showed a different result, don't know if it's worth writing about.
You guys are far too nice and far too civilized and the "experiment" has a much different outcome.
I think, at least you all have raised the calibre of the people on this forum UP more than anyone could have imagined. Kudos to you but now she's gonna have to go to another board and try it a little bit differently.

I can't find it now but there was a thread started back in the day about some guy asking how to get the scrapes out of his paint after using steel wool to wash it.

edit- found the thread https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=93170
