Default thinking about moving out...

Ok as it is now I am 27 and live with my parents. The time has come to leave the nest and venture off on my own. I currently live in NY (long island) and would like to relocate to Las Vegas, Nevada. Ive been there and fell inlove with it the minute i stepped off the plane. NY is too expensive to live on your own, I cant do it by myself.

My bills only include my s2k payment, insurance for the car, my cell phone and my CC payment. All together approx $1000 a month. I would be taking my S with me across the country.

As for employment, Im probably going to end up going without a job. I would like to get a job before I got there so I wouldnt start from scratch but companys like you to live there before they consider you; its a catch 22.

My question is, how much do you think I should go there with? My goal is to save $8000 before I go. I figure that would last me just about 6 months. If in 6 months I cant find a job doing anything then Im in big trouble. My CC would be paid off before I left; I have very little left to pay.

Im looking for outside opinions. My parents obviously want me to stay and my friends wsay I should do it but Im old enough, the time has come.

Thanks for all the hel guys!

Do it! 8000 should be enough if you stay away from gambling. The summers are tough, the polar opposite of your winters. Good luck.

What kind of job would you be looking for out there?

I say go for it. Cliche as it is, you have to take risks to reap the rewards
