Default Thinking of getting a tattoo

So I've had some revolutions in my life of late. New outlook on things. I've never ever been religious in my life, but have found a theory (that I'll keep to myself) about beliefs and what I have faith in. I wanted to get a Tattoo, just curious to see what others thought. Especially those that have done the same. To be honest, I've always hated Tattooes and thought of them to he very cliche. I thought of something that will be significant and unique to me. Just curious to know if anyone has ever had a similar occurence and what you thought of it?

I wanted to get a tattoo once, but grew out of it.If you really want one now, wait a year and see if you still want it.

regards but not positive:

-the coloration used may or may not be chemically stable over time, i would not want it in my body for the next few decades.

-jewelery or a tattoo if it is an attempt to demonstrate how changed you are how different personally you are. when the only thing that matters is how you fit into a whole, your friends and family.

What makes you think you won't have another revelation in life that changes your outlook on things? Thoughts shouldn't be put down permanently. Those that ARE permanent in your life are the ones that should be imprinted on your body.

I thought about my first one for almost 2 years before I actually got it done. I wanted to be sure not only about the design, but also the location. Try to imagine what that will look like when your body is 80 years old.

I understand your point, but I'll tell you, there's not much of any part of my body I'd be trying to show off at 80.

I appreciate the advice and agree, I should and see how I feel after some time has gone by. Don't want to rush into something that I'll never be able to change...easily. Thanks guys

I only have 1 tattoo that I thought about for 4 years. Not saying you should wait that long, I just never had much of a desire to go get it done. My wife has 10 tattoos or so. I think they lose their meaning pretty quickly and your body just becomes a notepad.

I waited over a year before I got my tattoo ... I would definitely recommend, as have others, waiting and making sure that in a year's time, or whatever, that you still want it.
