That's why I went with Dish Tv. They have the best HD package (they purchased VOOM and got all of their channels), customer service is OK as long as you get someone in the US and the pricing is very competitive.
RaveHD is a kick ass channel. All concerts in HD, just saw the Cure Trilogy yesterday

Is that Dish Network or is Dish TV a different company?
I think they have competitive pricing, but unless they launched a new satellite, the last time I looked into the they had 2 satellites and you needed 2 dishes on your house to get HD. If they can do it all with one dish, I would look into it.
Yeah, it's Dish Network. I don't mind the two dishes as I already have two to get the international channels (indian). However, they do have a new "SuperDish" that is just one dish allowing reception of all channels.
I really love the channels I get through this and it is significantly cheaper than Comcast.

I've had DirecTV for 10 years, live at 1500 feet on a hilltop with winds at times over 50 mph. Never had a problem.
I have called customer service to ask questions, though, and I agree their customer service Sucks big time.

the only reason my family has direct TV is because direct TV bought out TFC(the filipino channel) and thats pretty much the only thing that my dad watches. i opted to get comcast and pay the extra 10 bucks but he doesnt wanna do it, says its a waste of the dish equipment. even though the dish does periodically lose signal and we have to sit there and wait for the dish box to download their crap from the sattelite... it sucks big time. and yea service is 70 bucks and i think they charged 2 bucks for calling last time. sucks major ass. cable rules. i dont care if its more expensive, its worth not losing hella time of your life sitting there to watch some bar go full and have to reset your box again! i hate dish!
I've had Direct TV for 12 years. Maybe 6 times in that period, weather has affected the signal. Did go almost a full day without signal after a mega snowstorm covered the dish and I couldn't get to it to clear it off. My signal strength is usually in the mid 90s. I installed it myself, so the dish is very secure and properly aimed, maybe that is why it works so well for me.
You guys are in luck. I am a Satilite retailer. We carry DirecTV and Dish Network. You guys whose Tv's are going out with slight rain is becuase of installation problems. Any additional questions?
I had cable and went to DirectTV, I dont anticipate going back to cable... for the same price you get a ton more channels. In the past year ive only encounted 2 or 3 issues in BAD BAD weather... usually if it get rediculously wack the dish needs to be re-aimed. Plus not to mention I get it for free!
