It seems pretty simple, a guy (Aus/Jap) interested in Japanese cars creates a persona online which does not necessarily always translate to actual reality.

e.g. have some car = have S2000 VGS with hard top. Had a bit of fight and get a few stitches = have major punchup and get in coma.

Maybe we should be upset for wasted time or money lost. But since logging on to the forum is voluntary and nobody appears to be out of pocket - who cares and so what, this is just a soap opera.

The only person who can truly answer is the original poster of the story - whoever that is? but looks like they are going to take the online version of the 5th.

naishou,

You are right, this should not be taken lightly. As a non-Aus member - I obviously can't empathize with all the feelings you will be having about what has happened, so I won't attempt it. However I was also truly shocked and taken in by the original post, actually so much so I did not know what to post in response. In these events where somebody is hurt - wherever in the world, I am sure everybody will feel 100% support for that person - whatever previous was said and done.

However the last few days of posts show that this is probably not the case - of course part of the story could be true - but it seems unlikely given the bulk of information (or lack of it). Since I'm living in Japan - after reflecting on all the posts - I had some doubt of the authenticity of the identity - though I did feel he had some connection to the country - direct or indirect.

That's why I said it takes the resemblance of an opera - we start to become interested in things that are not real. The more upset we become the more it fuels the original concepts of why people do these things.

I also can't understand why somebody would want to do this - slander other people in the process. Unfortunately the internet is a great weapon for upsetting people - if that was his intention - then he has done an A1 job.

I dont know takashi, but I feel sickened by this incident.

You all should spend more time driving your cars than sitting in front of the darn computer. Sheesh... this is the most pathetic thread I've read in a long time...

Time to write that character off the show... I'm sure he's already living here under another identity anyways...

Back to busniess... See ya at the red light.

How is Levittown, America's first planned community, holding up these days? I once worked for The Larwin Group, a fierce rival of Levitt & Sons.

Levittown is holding up, but slowly sliding downhill. Bunch of kids with their Bumble Bee sounding civics around. It's kinda hard to keep off the gas when ya got one of those next to ya asking for a spanking.

You still in the area?
