If you really want to put a dent in the crime rate, you gotta do it at home. IMO Most 'problem' adults where problem children first, raised by problem parents. It is a vicious cycle. Stop allowing every reject to pump out families of 8, I bet the crime rates fall faster then any other precaution you could do.
I couldn't agree with you more!

When you look at the white-trash hicks that can't even take care of themselves pumping out kids, I just want to smack them.

Thank you.
Your post saved me from posting something more derogitory about "Americans and Guns"

And to all those people who really believe that "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" please pull your head out of your ass and realize the reality "People use guns to kill people".
thanks for enlightening us, i had no idea people used guns to commit crimes. people also use cars, knives, bats, etc. to kill people. some use their bare hands. so why should guns always take the heat. it does make killing a person a lot easier, but it is the person who is responsible. preventing crime starts with the person, instilling higher/better moral beliefs in other.
also, there is always a way to get a gun if they become illegal.

Oddly enough, you can't walk into a store in Washington DC and buy a gun at all, but there's a lot more crime there than in California.

When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.
let me tell you there are a good amount of gun owners in virginia and not every person who owns a gun commits a crime. it depends on the area. for instance certain areas of fairfax county (northern virginia) have very very low crime rates while other ares have higher. across the river in washington DC the crime rate is high. now why do certain areas have higher crime rates? BC those areas usually are home to poor people who are not as fortunate to have some of the things other people have such as a good upbringing. notice how the poorer areas have higher crime, many people who live there do not have the best morals.
also, many crimes are comitted by machettes in our area. MS-13 has been growing strong and ruthless. they do not use guns, they chop people with large sharp objects. so, should be ban the sale of machettes at the local landscaping store?

sorry, but my head is not in my ass.

edit: the second quote was from diamoddave2005 and i agree with him

My head is planted firmly on my shoulders. Perhaps you can't see past your own colon?

Do a little research on a town in the Atlanta metro area called Kennesaw. Just use google and search for Kennesaw and guns.

Of course, this is likely to get moved to the politics forum where you can't participate.

None, in fact it would probably increase.

I'm guessing VoIPA that Kennesaw is that city where everyone packs, and their crime rate is stupid low.

Monkei - It is not just white trash - it is anyone - regaurdless of race.

The problem lies at home. It is an attitude and moral problem. Take away the gun, they use a knife, take away the knife they use a home made shank...see where this is going? What is the common denominator? It sure as hell is not a gun.

Why are people always looking to scapegoat the problems? Guns dont go out and shoot people, they do what the owner tells'em, just like we yell at poons that say the s2k has snap oversteer. No you idiot, it did what you told it to, it did not spin out on its own.

Kapish?

Yes, and not only does everyone carry, it's actually a law that every household must own a handgun (except for felons, of course).

Kinda shoots a big hole so to speak in the get ride of guns, get ride of crime idea heh?

One could only imagine if one extreme of everyone packing lowers the crime rate...what would the other extreme be if only law enforcement and criminals had them?

Dude you need to look at how America came to be. We broke away from England
because they were opressive and had TOO much power.

When our for fathers wrote the Bill of Rights AKA the first 10 Amedments of the Constitution they made it a point that every American has the right to bear arms.

It was SOOO important, they made it second only to the right of freedom of speech.

Why is that?....

TO prevent rule from a tyranical govt. Read the words of the Preamble, they felt that these were God given rights that every man should have.

That is why alot of Americans feel the way they do about guns.

One of the first things Adolf Hitler did when he came into power in Germany was to make firearms illegal. Why??....

You can't have a revolution without weapons. Therefore those who oppose you are powerless.

The rifles you saw under the Barrett are most likey neutered versions of the originals. Probably a Vulcan or FAB-10. Those have either fixed mags or closed wells where you have to use a strip loader.

Criminals don't walk in a store and wait 10 days to buy guns. They get it illegally! If someone wanted to commit a murder and didn't have access to a gun, what makes you think that they won't find another means to do it? Knife, car, hammer, crossbow, chopsticks, fork, spoon, etc.....

I hope the day comes when guns are banned and only the criminals have guns. Then the idiots who voted to have guns banned could reap the benifits of being robbed without having any means of protecting themselves. I'd love to see it backfire.
