The current issue of Stuff Magazine showed up yesterday. I was thumbing through it look for some reading 'material' and guess what material I stopped on - NEW M3! This car is just plain awesome. Too bad I can't afford it.

There was a supplemental ad section in the LA Times magazine that had the new M3 convertible. It's a pretty sweet car with a lot of power. The thing I thought that was funny was they were touting how they can get over 100 HP/liter out of the engine. Man we get 120 HP/liter.

I think I read somewhere that Honda and BMW were the only car manufacturers that were able to get 100 HP/liter. Not sure if that's still correct though.

Remember that as engine size increases, efficiency decreases...

It's not. The Ferrari 360 Modena has 111 (400 HP/3.6L), we have 120, and the M3 has 104. Several other cars have 100 +/- 1.

100HP per liter is pretty dang good for any NA engine, regardless of whether its 240 from a 2.0L or 333 from a 3.2L.
