Default ticketmaster...

Don't think this has been posted yet... click

Am I alone when I saw that's B.S. if they start auctioning off the best tickets? I enjoy going to concerts and getting as close as possible to the band, but if I'm gonna have to pay more than I already do, I might just have to stop going. Like that one guy said, the best tickets should go to the biggest fan, not the richest fan. Ticket prices are already high as it is, this is just gonna make it worse. Weren't bands and concert promoters saying that the slumping economy was keeping people away from concerts? How's allowing the ticket price to go up even higher going to improve concert attendance

Anyone else feel the same way I do?

Ticketmaster is a pretty evil company as it is. Their fees are ridiculous and they have hardly any competition. Most concert tickets are so expensive for what you get I don't really go to too many concerts. If ticketmaster starts doing this crap, I may not bother at all. This sounds like an idea that will backfire in the marketplace and silently disappear.

Seems like a short sighted thing for them to do. Alienating customers is seldom a good idea. Seems to me that it would be bad for Ticketmaster AND the artists in the long run...

Hopefully it will disappear if they do this.

Their fees are crazy, just the ticket will run you normally around 25 - 50 bucks, and then they have that stupid service charge thats like 10 bucks. All they have to do is type in the band name and click print, and for that they charge 10 bucks

You would probably get a better deal bidding on EBay anyways....

How is this bad? I dont particularly like the practice either but I also fail to see how this is going to affect anything other than their cashflow. Remember that they are in business to do what??? Make money. How??? By selling tickets.

These days the best seats cost too much anyways, certainly more than I think they are worth so let the idiots who will pay, pay.

This will take any opportunity for the average person to get good seats at face value. I have gotten front row seats before off of ticketmaster by getting on the system as soon as the tickets went on sale and getting a little lucky. The tickets weren't really that expensive for how close they were, but if they were auctioned off they would probably have been quite a bit more expensive. Not every good seat is picked up by a scalper or ticket broker, but this new system will make you pay as if they all were.

What I hate most about ticketmaster (besides the price gouging and "conveniece" fees) is that they charge a fee to allow you to print your own ticket while you can have them print a ticket and mail it to you for free. How does that make any sense?

I don't think it's available at all venue's, but it's the same as printing your own movie tickets, which you can do for some theaters, as well. It prints a page with information about the event and a barcode for the venue to scan.
