I'd just like to mention that DirecTV also has UltimateTV which is a Microsoft product. You might want to look into this as well.

I understand that you cannot "increase" the quality above the signal source But your comments on the lifetime subscription are interesting. Hopefully you are correct. I do realize that you'd need to be using it for 25 months to "break even" but if the equipment does not last that long, or if it is not transferrable to your upgrade box, it is not worth it. More research needed. Boy, this spending money stuff is fun huh?
